Well. How much rain can a garden take? Or, rather, how much rain until the garden just cannot,
simply cannot be planted? The answer is all the rain we have had since January. We managed to get a couple of rows of tomatoes and peppers on rows pulled up high, and the potatoes got planted And (amazingly) did not rot...the garlic was put in in November of course, so we're good there. One greenhouse was a planted in flowers for an April wedding and the other in tomatoes...sounds like a lot doesn't it? Ha. No. Flats of squash, pots of eggplants, all kinds of herbs....the corn, the beans...none of it made it in because it rained and rained and rained....
So we refunded all of the CSA money, and apologized for the sadness.
And of course it hasn't rained now in at least a week. Nice joke, nature.
I'll post pictures as soon as I move from iPad to computer, being as this blog site just does not access photos from this device...but that's an update...
