every year...August 10-12. It's been many years since the Perseids were on a Saturday night, when everybody can go ahead and lose some sleep over this...we'll be out there as usual - boiled peanuts and wine at hand. We've watched these showers for more than 30 years Don't miss it !
I am bummed that I won't be able to see them this year. Cloudy in my neck of the woods! The first time I saw them was in 1993 when I was in the Caribbean sailing around the US and British Virgin Islands. It was a stunning show!

Oh no, just came across this post. What a great thing it would have been for my eight year old. Does it really come every year though?
ReplyDeleteYes...every year! always August 10-12 and there's always a 'best' night
ReplyDeleteBut take naps because the best viewing is midnight on...and it gets better the later you stay up!
There's also a Leonids shower in the first week of December - cold, but worth it!
